Owen Davey is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and photographer from Stratford, Ontario, Canada. His career began with covers of classic rock and metal songs by bands like Metallica, Tool, and Dream Theater. These early covers quickly attracted the attention of industry leaders and prominent musicians, with Owen’s “one-man band” approach helping his videos accumulate over 100 million views across platforms.
In 2017, Owen became the youngest musician to be endorsed by Ibanez, a milestone that was soon followed by his feature in Canadian Musician Magazine’s "Young Guns" article, highlighting him as one of seven guitarists under 30 reshaping the industry. At just 14, he was also shortlisted for MusicRadar’s “Young Guitarist of the Year.” Today, Owen is endorsed by Fractal Audio, Sabian, Earthworks Audio and Ernie Ball
With a social media following exceeding 400,000, Owen has built a substantial online fanbase through his covers, paving the way to launch his original music. Currently, he is in preproduction for a short documentary that will chronicle his journey as an emerging artist.
In addition to his covers, Owen composes professionally for films and advertisements, utilizing his creativity to enhance visual storytelling. A distinguishing feature of his work is his capacity to record live instruments in his studio, set in a 150 year old church renowned for its remarkable acoustics. He composed the original soundtrack and sound design for the short film Wilfrid, which was showcased at LA Shorts, an Academy Award-qualifying festival. The film went on to win Best Screen Adaptation at the Santa Fe Film Festival and was featured on closing night at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle.
